NEPAL TREKKING TOUR
A trek in Nepal is a special and rewarding mountain holiday.
A delightful short trek near
the Kathmandu valley, just within an hours drive, the trek offers typical
rural Nepal with magnificent views of different Himalayan ranges. Few people
trek around the Kathmandu valley. Yet it offers a rich insight into the
lives, history, culture and religion, together with the daily toil in the
fields of its inhabitants.

Day 01: London to Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to a 3* hotel. Day free to relax or
optional half day city tour. O/n in hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu
- Changu Narayan - Nagarkot
After breakfast, drive to Changu
Narayan - approximately 20 kms east of Kathmandu. Changunarayan is said to
be the oldest temple of Kathmandu valley and is listed in the UNESCO World
Heritage monument list. Changu Narayan is situated at the end of a long
ridge which runs well into the valley. It is said to have been built by King
Hari Dutta in 323 AD and sais to be the oldest temple in the valley. The
altitude is approx. 1,500 mts.. Later, walk up through the pine forest along
the ridge through the villages with splendid view of the valley and
mountains. A walk of 3 to 4 hours brings you to Nagarkot at the altitude of
2175 m above sea level. Nagarkot is one the most panoramic destinations of
Nepal for landscapes, mountain views including Mt Everest and magnificent
sunrise and sun set view. Overnight in Hotel / camp.
Day 03:
Nagarkot - Dhulikhel
After breakfast, start a gentle walk for the
first hour and so through the pine forest down hill enjoying the landscapes.
Afterwards, walk through paddy field, villages offers you some knowledge
about the people and their life style of Nepal. Approximate walk of 5 to 6
hours will take you to Dhulikhel (1440m), an ancient town is situated 30 kms
east of Kathmandu on the way to Nepal/China border highway. Newar town of
Dhulikhlel offers a traditional atmosphere along with spectacular views of
the Himalayan range - with views of peaks like Dorje Lakpa ( 6966 mts.),
Garu Shankar ( 7,145 mts.) and Langtang ( 7,324 mts.) is possible on a clear
day. Overnight in hotel /camp.
Day 04: Dhulikhel - Namo
Buddha - Balthali
After breakfast, walk to the Namo Buddha
(1982m), situated on hill above Panauti, and it takes approx. 3 hrs. There
is an amazing legend related to the Buddha, which is commemorated by an
ancient stone slab and a stupa with the al-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.
Later, walk another 3 hrs. to reach the enchanting Balthali village offering
excellent mountain views at an altitude of 2400m. Overnight in camp.
Day 05: Day hike around Balthali
Today you will visit a
typical Tamang village, Dada Gaun, where a Buddhist Community lives. It is
very traditional and secluded from the modern world. Here people and animals
live together side by side. Then walk to Pada Gaun (2100m), from where you
have an extremely good views of the whole Himalayan range to north and
beautiful green forest of Mahabharat (weather permitting). The walk on to
Karnali, a hamlet of nature, and follow the banks of the Ladku river back to
the camp. Approx. 5 hrs. walk.
Day 06: Balthali - Panauti -
Kathmandu
Today, you take leisurely walk to the thriving Newari
village of Panauti, with some very lovely temples and interesting old
houses, particularly beautiful areas some fourteenth century wooden temple
struts. Having taken about 6 hours foot journey, drive to Kathmandu. O/n in
hotel.
Day 07: Transfer to airport for Int'l flight.
