Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Upon arrival, you will be met by our
representative and transfer to hotel. After check into hotel, our guide will
brief you on the itinerary. Evening free. Overnight in hotel.
Kathmandu, the capital of the ancient mountain kingdom of Nepal,
has the air of a medieval city, a maze of narrow streets, wooden temples and
beautifully decorated palaces. In the background there is often the gentle
sound of jangling cymbals and the markets are a rich blend of colours and
aromas. Only in the 1950s was Nepal opened up to visitors and today the
contrast between 21st century technology and traditional lifestyles help to
make Kathmandu one of the World's most fascinating cities.
Day 02: Kathmandu, a full day guided sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath
temple, Baudhanath stupa & Kathmandu Darbar square.
Pashupatinath temple: One of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the
world. It is situated 5km east from city center. The richly ornamented
pagoda houses the sacred Linga of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate its
existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the
holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple also a World Heritage Sites.
Baudhanth Stupa: Baudhanath lies about 6km to the east
of down town Kathmandu and is the largest stupa in the valley. It looms 36m
high and presents one of the most fascinating specimen of stupa design.
Boudhnath, a World Heritage site, is also known as "Little Tibet".
There are more than 45 Buddhist monasteries in the area.
Kathmandu Durbar square: This complex of palaces, courtyards and
temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries used to be the seat of
Malla kings of Kathmandu. The Durbar square, protected as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, is the social religious and urban focal point of the city.
There are also several Museums inside the palace building
Day 03: Mountain Flight - Sightseeing tour of Swayamphunath (Monkey temple)
and Patan Durbar Square
Early morning fast, transfer to the airport
for one hour mountain flight that will take you to view the Mountain Everest
and the Himalayan range. This is a breath taking flight and an experience of
a life time.
Swoyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple): This
is considered as oldest Buddhist stupa. Watches over the valley from the top
of hillock on its western side. The stupa is one of the holiest Buddhist
sites of Nepal. It' establishment is linked to the creation of Kathmandu
valley out of primordial lake. It's listed in World Heritage site.
Patan Durbar Square: Patan Durbar Square like its counter part in
Kathmandu, is an enchanting mélange of palace building, artistic
courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former Royal place complex is
the center of Patan's religious and social life and houses a museum
containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable
monument here is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Krishna
built entirely of stone. It is listed on World Heritage site.
Day 4: A two day river raft (04 to 06 pax in one raft)
After
breakfast, drive to the rafting put in point: Charaudi, approximately 3hours
scenic drive from Kathmandu. On arrival at the river point, you will be
received by our raft crew and you will be briefed on the trip and commence
rafting. Overnight camp by the river side.
Day 5: Rafting -
Chitwan national park.
After breakfast, continue river raft, after
lunch drive to Chitwan national park. Late afternoon visit to elephant
breeding centre Evening free. O/n Jungle Resort.
Royal
Chitwan National Park: It is synonymous with some of the most rewarding
and stimulating wildlife activities in Nepal. The Park is approximately
1,000 sq. km. of sub-tropical lowland area, heavily forested hills bordering
India on the south. It is a wildlife and cultural haven, with a unique flora
and fauna, a home to a multitude of wild animals such as Royal Bengal Tiger.
Deer, Rhino, Bear, Elephant, Wild boar, leopard and more than 420 species of
birds recorded inside the Park, as well as the fascinating Tharu tribe whose
lifestyle has remained unchanged for several hundred of years. Several
safari resorts and camps are there inside and outside the Park to offer the
tourist comfortable accommodation, Elephant back safaris for wildlife
viewing, canoeing and nature walks/bird watching with highly trained
resident naturalist.
Day 6 : Chitwan National Park.
Morning cross the Rapti river by boat to view the Magar and gharial
crocodiles along with the waterbirds and after that walk to the jungle to
view The rhiniceros, wild boar, leopard etc
Afternoon elephant
safaries deep in the jungle for the close acquaintance with the nature and
the wild life. Evening visit the villages. O/n Jungle Resort.
Day 7 : Chitwan National Park.
Morning bird watching
excursions into the jungle. Return back to Resort for breakfast.
Afternoon visit the Tharu village on CART ride. Tharu tribes are one of the
largest ethnic group in Nepal. Many tharu are heavily exploited by newly
arrived hill people. Large numbers have fallen into debt and have , as a
result entered into a form of bonded labour , little different to slavery.
They are generally Mongoloid in appearance, and have an animist religion
that is increasingly influenced by Hinduism. Evening free. O/n Jungel
resort.
Day 8: Chitwan - Pokhara
After breakfast
drive to Pokhara (about 5 hours drive). Rest of the day at leisure OR boat
around Phew Lake. Overnight at hotel.
Pokhara: Pokhara
is a remarkable place of natural beauty. Situated at an altitude of 827m
from the sea level and 200km west of Kathmandu valley, the city is known as
a center of adventure. The enchanting city with a population of around
125,000 has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of
Himalayan peaks. The serenity of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas
rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic. So today the city
has not only become the starting point for most popular trekking and rafting
destinations but also a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. This
is the land of Magars and Gurungs, hardworking farmers and valorous warriors
who have earned worldwide fame as Gurkha soldiers. The Thakalis, another
important ethnic group here, are known for their entrepreneurship. The
climate of Pokhara is slightly warmer than Kathmandu with daytime
temperature hovering around 15 degrees Celsius in winter and 35 degrees in
summer.
Day 9: Pokhra sightseeing
A full day
Sightseeing tour including of the David's Fall, Mahendra Cave, Bindubasisini
Temple, Museum and local market. O/n Hotel with breakfast.
Day 10: Pokhara - Kathmandu - Bhaktapur - Nagarkot
After breakfast,
transfer to airport and fly to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be received
at the airport and go for sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur and Changu Narayan,
the world heritage sites. Later, drive further to the popular hill station
of Nagarkot for overnight stay. Bhaktapur: As you walk in, you
can't but be overcome by a feeling of inner harmony. Such is the art and
architecture and the special layout here. The 15th-century Palace of 55
Windows, situated to the left as you enter through the city gate inspires
admiration. The National Art Gallery is also housed inside. The Palace
entrance, the Golden Gate, is a masterpiece in repousse art. In front of the
Palace building is a medley of temples of various designs. There are more
things to see in Bhaktapur, they are Taumadhi Square, Dattatreya Square,
Potters' Square etc.
Changu Narayan temple: This temple
is situated on a ridge over looking the valley about 12km to the east of the
city. It is dedicated to the God Bishnu. This temple is one of the finest
and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture and also listed in World
Heritage Sites.
Nagarkot - is situated at an elevation
of 2175m and provides a grandstand panorama of the Himalaya. You can see
five of the world's 10 tallest mountains: Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8561m),
Cho-Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8463m) and Manaslu (8163m) and many other lesser
summits. The snow peaks look so gorgeous during the sunset and sunrise.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Nagarkot-Kathmandu
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. Rest of the day at leisure for
personal activities or shopping.
Evening transfer to Kathmandu
international airport board flight to home country.
Day 12:
Departure Kathmandu.
